OnRankSEO is a small SEO practice operated from Ontario, Canada. This page says what we collect when you use this site or work with us, why, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted. We don’t sell it, rent it, or use it for advertising, and we never ask for your password.
What we collect
The free AI check
The website address you type in, the result of the check, your email address if you choose to give one, and the short description your browser sends of itself (its “user agent”). We use it to show you the result, to email it to you if you asked, and so a person can follow up once.
A beta audit request
Your website, business name, email address and anything you write in the notes box. We use it to reply to you, and if we say yes, to set up your audit.
Datum, our assistant
The questions you type and the answers Datum gives, under a random conversation number. It is not tied to your name unless you type your name. A person reads these conversations so we can fix wrong answers. When Datum answers with AI rather than from its prepared answers, your question is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the AI model, to produce the answer.
If you become a client
Your name, business details and email address; the sign-in record for your client page; the access you give us to your Google accounts and what we read there; the work we produce for you; the time we spend on it; and which setup steps you have ticked off.
If you pay us
Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of the order: what it was for, the amount, your email address and Stripe’s reference. (Payments are not switched on yet.)
Email you send us
Mail to hello@onrankseo.com is delivered to a Google (Gmail) inbox that we read.
What we don’t do
No advertising or analytics trackers.
This site runs no advertising pixels and no third-party analytics scripts.
No selling or sharing for marketing.
Nobody buys a list from us, and we don’t send newsletters.
No passwords.
Clients add us to their accounts as a named user. If anyone asks you for a login — us included — say no.
Cookies and your browser
If you are a client and sign in, your browser keeps a sign-in cookie so you stay signed in; signing out removes it. Some pages remember your place in your own browser — for example, which setup steps you have ticked — and that stays on your device. Nothing else is stored in your browser by us.
Who else handles it
We use a few companies to run the site. They handle your information only to provide their service to us, and they store it on their own servers, which may be in the United States or elsewhere.
Vercel
Hosts the website, and keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, which include IP addresses.
Supabase
Stores our database and runs client sign-in.
Resend
Sends our emails, including sign-in links and check results.
Google
The inbox our email arrives in; the Google accounts you choose to give us access to; and Google Fonts, which serves this site's typefaces, so your browser fetches them from Google when a page loads.
Anthropic
Produces Datum's AI answers, when that is switched on.
Stripe
Takes card payments, when that is switched on.
Seeing it, correcting it, deleting it
Email hello@onrankseo.com from the address you used, and a person will reply within one working day. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will delete it, except anything we are required to keep as a business record, such as a record of a payment — and if that applies, we will tell you what we kept and why.
We haven’t set automatic deletion periods yet. Until we do, the rule is simple: ask, and it goes.
If you gave us access to your Google accounts, you can remove it yourself at any time, in about ten seconds, without asking us.
If this changes
If we start collecting something new, this page changes first and the date at the top changes with it.
